Diane Van Noord
We live in a magnificent natural world that compels me to express the
wonder of it all through my painting. Color, texture, shape and mood
inspire me as I strive to capture the essence of the landscape on the
canvas or paper. In painting my impressions of a particular scene, it is
my hope that others will experience some of the beauty and wonder that I
feel when looking at the world around us.
Born and raised in Michigan, Diane has traveled throughout the United
States. Her landscapes are impressions of the places she has visited,
with her favorite subjects the coastline, the vast southwest, the
midwest, as as animals and flowers. She has a BA from Hope College and a
MA from Western Michigan University.
Diane has had paintings Juried in over 40 exhibitions. Among her awards
are two from International Artist Magazine, Second Place in Challenge
#7: Landscapes 2002 and Honorable Mention in Challenge #19: Landscapes
2004. She was an Honorable Mention winner in the Artist's Magazine 2002
Art Competition (landscape category).
Diane is an associate member of Oil Painters of America, Allied Artists,
American Women Artists and National Watercolor Society. She is an
elected member Arizona Watercolor and Northern Arizona Watercolor
Society. |
