Steve Nichols
Steve Nichols’ passion for life is reflected in his paintings through
color and impressionist technique. A native Californian, Steve’s
artistic repertoire captures nature’s endless personalities from the
surrounding magnificence of the Central through Northern California
coast, the majestic Sierra Nevada mountains and his extensive travels
throughout the world.
Steve continues to receive inspiration and guidance from his mentors,
world-renowned impressionist artist George Bleich and realist artist
Ward Walkup. Through this encouragement and his college art training,
Steve has developed his own style and talent in capturing light and
color in his paintings. His compositions are focused on land and sea,
with a special interest in gardens.
Steve’s art developed in the late 1960’s and early 1970’s through the
mediums of ceramics and jewelry making. His current focus on oil and
acrylic painting began in the 1990’s. Steve’s development of luminosity
and color continues to evolve through the observations and experiences
of an active athletic outdoor lifestyle. Steve currently lives on 40
acres in the Central California redwoods with his wife, four Belgian
Sheepdogs, and cat, which provide a sanctuary of peace, harmony and
continuing inspiration.
My pursuit of reflecting nature’s scenes on canvas remains a lifelong
journey of learning, exploration and appreciation. I love to paint. |
