Virginia Pendergrass
I personally prefer colorful paintings which are clearly identifiable
as to subject matter, but which are suggestive rather than explicit. My
goal is to use these principles of suggestion and color to depict
beautiful scenes as they catch my eye and imagination- landscapes, still
life or figure. I often paint ‘en plein air’ in Florida, where the
terrain is varied, the light can be particularly brilliant, and flowers
and foliage are intensely colorful.
Virginia's art training includes study at Crealde School of Art, Old
Lyme Academy of Art, Scott Christensen’s Intensive Workshop and special
topic workshops and individual study.
Virginia is a member of the American Impressionist Society,
