Wade Koniakowsky
Wade Koniakowsky has enjoyed a 25-year career in advertising creating
campaigns for clients such as Taco Bell, Reebok, McDonald’s and
Microsoft and IBM. In 1995, he founded Big Bang, with offices in San
Diego and Seattle. Today, Wade divides his time between creative duties
at Big Bang and his pursuit of fine art. He resides in La Costa,
California with his wife and two daughters.
His art is clearly inspired by a love for the ocean. A surfer since
1966, Wade has developed a deep reservoir of ocean and surf imagery to
draw from. Traveling and researching the Polynesian Islands has also
provided inspiration for much of his art.
Wade has judged exhibits for Communication Arts Magazine, been the host
speaker at The Artists & Art Directors Club of Sacramento and served on
the board of The American Institute of Graphic Arts, San Diego chapter.
His work has been featured in Graphis, Art Direction, Communication
Arts, and Print. His work has been recognized by the New York Art
Director’s Club, The Houston Art Director’s Club, The Los Angeles
Advertising Club and The Clios. He is a guest lecturer at Art Center
College of Design in Pasadena. His ad agency Big Bang is a corporate
member of the San Diego Museum of Art and creates advertising and design
for their exhibits. |
